Introducing our debut collaboration

Taylor Morris Eyewear is proud to announce our debut collaboration with British car manufacturer Morgan Motor Company.

Taylor Morris Eyewear desired to partner with a lifestyle brand which shares the same British sensibilities, has a luxurious and certain eccentricity to their designs, and a commitment to craftsmanship. These factors combined with a rich British heritage, they found the perfect partner within Morgan Motor Company.

Morgan Motors – The Story

The Morgan Motor Company Ltd. was established in 1909 by H.F.S. Morgan with the design of the Morgan three-wheeler. Morgan Motor cars have long become famous the world over for their unique blend of charisma, quality materials, craftsmanship and performance.

The ethos at Morgan Motor remains unchanged: all cars are coach built and subjected to continual development to offer the responsive thoroughbred performance with which the name is associated.

The Three Wheeler

The designers used the 3 wheeler Morgan as inspiration for their frames; influenced by the forward mounted engine positioning and perforated tail pipes to create a unique design in 3 different colourways.

The Design Process

The Taylor Morris design duo, working very closely with the Morgan Motor head of design Jon Wells, designed the shape based on the traditional 1930’s racing goggles, combined with current trends within the eyewear industry.

The Elements

Looking more closely at the details, the three frames are differentiated by the varying acetates used, inspired by the 3 most popular wood finishes, as well as the lenses inspired by the three most popular paint finishes. Other distinct features; the brow bar which is covered in leather inspired by the car interiors, and the Carl Zeiss CR39 polarized lenses.

The Campaign

The campaign features McClaren racing driver Struan Moore and model Lilia Weddell, both wearing Belstaff throughout.
