Keeping your sunglasses clean will help maintain their appearance and also technical performance. However, luxury eyewear and especially their lenses require careful treatment. Improper care can damage lenses, resulting in scratches or haziness, which in turn may cause eyestrain.
Always be sure to keep your sunglasses in a case to prevent damage. The best way to clean your sunglasses is by gently rubbing them with the lens cleaning cloth provided with your frames and a liquid cleaner specifically designed for eyewear lenses, or with a pre-moistened lens towelette. To avoid damage, never clean your sunglasses with paper towels or clothing, which can grind dust and fibers into lenses and leave scratches. Also avoid using household detergents. House hold Glass cleaners especially are highly corrosive and can damage your lenses quickly.
While none of these products will cause immediate damage to your lenses, over time and with repetition, the damage will become visible.
Every face is different. You might have noticed the little numbers written in the left temple of your sunglasses. These note the dimensions in millimetres. If you need your sunglasses adjusted to improve the fit we would always advise you paying us a visit at the Taylor Morris Space or if you are not nearby then we would advise taking your Taylor Morris frame to your local Taylor Morris Stockist.
Polarised lenses fight glare by minimizing the passage of undesirable light to the eye. The result is sharper vision, more vivid color and greater depth perception. This is why polarised frames are often associated with sports eyewear. With glare from reflective surfaces reduced, you don’t need to squint.
Anti-reflective lenses reduce distracting reflections that can bounce off the back of the lens into the eye.
To find your frame size, measure your features according to this guide:
Eye Size:
Measured from outermost edges of lenses horizontally.
Approx. 40mil – 62mil
Bridge Size:
The distance between lenses.
Approx. 14mil – 24mil
Temple Size:
Length of the temple piece – also known as the arm piece or earpiece.
Approx. 120mil – 150mil
If you are struggling to get these measurements then often a much easier way is too simply use your current glasses and or sunglasses, that fit you beautifully. The sizing is usually found on the inside of the temple, example 50 - 19 - 145.

What is blue light?
Blue light is the part of the visible light spectrum with the shortest wavelengths and the highest energy. It is everywhere, with sunlight being the main source of blue light. However, now with our modern technology we are exposing ourselves to high levels as we look at man-made sources of blue light in close proximity to our face, throughout the day. While there is no concluding evidence whether this causes harm to our eyes it does leads to digital eye strain.
Eyes feeling tired?
If your eyes feel tired after looking at screens all day, this may be a sign of digital eye strain. This is caused by the short wavelength and high energy nature of blue light causing light scatter easily, leading to unfocused visuals and reduced contrast. This makes our eyes tired and leaves them feeling strained as they work to focus themselves on the technology we so often put in front of them.
Have trouble switching off before sleep?
Blue light filters work together with your phones night filters to reduce the absorption of blue light before you drift off to sleep. If you can’t seem to resist the urge to scroll while in bed, we would recommend you shield your eyes with blue light filter lenses to aid your slumber.
Who will benefit from Blue Light Filter Lenses?
Gamers, Workaholics, Binge Waters and many more. If you are spending significant time in front of the screen then Blue Light Filter lenses can definitely help you.
With your new glasses / prescription your eyes may take time to adjust to the new lens. This can take up 1 – 2 weeks. If you are still experiencing issues after this period, then please get in touch with us at vision@taylor-morris.com
Pupillary Distance (PD) is the distance between the centre of both pupils in millimetres. Our lab requires your PD in order to fit your lens accurately. Most opticians list your PD on your prescription, so you may be able to find it there, or alternatively call your optician who carried out your previous eye examination. If you are still unable to obtain your PD then please contact us at vision@taylor-morris.com
If you are buying your glasses from us online and do not have your pupillary distance handy, then there is an easy way to measure your pupillary distance by yourself (or with a bit of help) following these easy steps:
1. Stand about 30cm away from a mirror
2. Looking at yourself, hold a ruler or measuring tape up against your eyebrows
3. Close your right eye, then line up the ruler so that 0mm is in line with the middle your left pupil
4. Look straight ahead again and then open your right eye and close your left.
5. Your pupillary distance measurement will be the figure that lines up with
the centre of your right pupil
Our Zero frame has base 0 lens, meaning they are completely flat. This removes any ability to add a prescription to this frame without completely removing the outer lens rim.
If you change your mind about the prescription glasses, although we cannot offer a refund, we can arrange an exchange for a different colour frame in the same style that you have ordered.
