This February 2018, the Taylor Morris team hit the road with Morgan Motors and drove to the Yorkshire Dales to capture the Taylor Morris X Morgan Motors collaboration in true British style.

After braving the elements on our afternoon adventure, the friendly team at Middleton Lodge opened up The Forge Barn for an evening of gin tasting thanks to Mór Irish Gin. Our barman Tom made us a selection of cocktails from the Pineapple Gin & Wild Berries Mór Gin including 'Pineapple and Gingerale' and 'Gin & juice'.

After a few drinks we walked over to The Coach House for a delicious dinner in the private dining room. Favourites included the chargrilled brocolli, soy-glazed duck & our photographer Grey was very curious about the crispy hen's egg; "A really nice scotch egg" he concluded.

We ended the night back at The Forge Barn, chatting by the fire accompanied by some questionable music choices and late-night jenga.

Following a five hour drive from London Morgan in a Plus 4, the team arrived at the beautiful Georgian retreat; Middleton Lodge. Set in 200 acres of rural North Yorkshire, we explored the grounds before settling in at The Farmhouse. After the drivers enjoyed some well-deserved massages in the treatment rooms, we drove to a local pub and became acquainted with the neighbours. After a great night's sleep, the team woke bright and early to a delicious breakfast in The Coachouse followed by a morning of discovering the lodge. After a cycle round the grounds, the team warmed up with a quick meal in The Farmhouse and set off for an afternoon drive in The Yorkshire Dales.

Hugo & Charlie, working very closely with the Morgan Motors' head of design Jon Wells, designed the shape based on the traditional 1930’s racing goggles, combined with current trends within the eyewear industry. The designers used the 3 wheeler Morgan as inspiration for their frames; influenced by the forward mounted engine positioning and perforated tail pipes to create a unique design.

 Looking more closely at the details, the three frames are differentiated by the varying acetates used, inspired by the most popular wood finishes, as well as the lenses inspired by the most popular paint finishes. Other distinct features; the brow bar which is covered in leather inspired by the car interiors, and the Carl Zeiss CR39 polarized lenses.
